Police recovered the body of a female student of Rajshahi University (RU) from a hostel in Mirzapur area in Rajshahi on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mobashshira Tahsin Ira, a 3rd year student of law department of the university, hailing from Kendua upazila of Netrakona district.
Chairman of RU law department Hasibul Alam Prodhan and Motihar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Imran Hasan confirmed the matter.
It was known that body of the female student was found hanging from the ceiling in her hostel room near the university around 3:00am.
The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) morgue for autopsy, he said, adding that the actual cause of death will be learned after the autopsy report.
It is learnt, neighbouring room-mates of Mobassira talked with her last at around 1:00 am Sunday. Later, getting no response from inside her and finding the door of her room closed from inside, other residents of the dormitory break open the door and found her dead body hanging.
Before her death, Mobassira wrote in status on Facebook, “Only 'Chinu Apa' is real because she removes depression of men through her touch. Kindly do not ignore her and everyone should pay a love for her.”
She further mentioned in her FB ID, “I am fine, just tired”.
