Rajshahi University employees from 3 different organisations on Monday staged a demonstration and locked the administration building of the university demanding easy loan with 5 per cent interest rate and transferring vice manager of the account department.
They took the position in front of the admin building at around 8:00am.
President of assistant employee association Sabbir Hossain said that they have been demanding reducing interest from 9pc to 5pc for a long time. Vice-chancellor assured them but did not realize. VC gave us a week. We are here for not seeing any step to realize that, he added.
Trade Union general secretary Abdul Aziz said, the vice manager of the account department Ansari misbehaved with the employees when they went to talk about the loan.
University proctor professor Lutfor Rahman said, “The employees are protesting demanding few accomplishments. It is not possible to solve all the problems at a time. We will try to solve those as early as possible.”
