Earlier, in the last few months, there were some allegations against BCL men of different hall units of torturing general students and campus journalists. But no action has been taken by the organization against their accused men.

Recently, on February 11, Shaheed Suhrawardy hall BCL general secretary Naim Ali and some of his men allegedly named a hindu student 'Shibir' and tortured him mentally and physically. The victim of this incident Krishna Ray is a 2020-21 session student of the Mass Communication and Journalism department.

A probe body was formed after this incident to investigate the matter and the body was supposed to submit the report within the next 3 working days but hasn't submitted it yet even after 6 working days have passed after forming the probe body.

Previously, on January 19, Tajbiul Hasan Apurba, president of RU Shah Makhdum hall Chhatra League allegedly beat up a resident student named Samiul Islam and snatched money from his wallet. The Chhatra League leader threatened him to kill if he informs anyone about this. In this incident, the victim student gave a written complaint to the university authority asking for safety.

On January 22, Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hall BCL general secretary Momin Islam and his activists allegedly got a student named Zakir Hossain out of the hall with bedding.

Later, that student staged a demonstration in front of the administration building with his bedding protesting the issue.

On August 17 last year, Accounting and Information Systems department’s final-year student Md Al Amin accused Bangladesh Chhatra League members including BCL vice-president Suranjit Prashad Britto of torturing and snatching Tk 45,000 from him. He left the campus after the incident and later on August 26, he sent a written complaint to the proctor's office through courier.

Al-Amin was tortured for more than three hours at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall on that night.

Motihar hall BCL general secretary Vaskar Saha beat an Economics department student named Samsul Islam and broke his eardrums of him on August 19 last year. He was kept in the hall for three hours and beaten. BCL men also threatened him and said, “If you tell anyone about this matter, your condition will be like of Abrar Fahad of BUET.”

Rajshahi University BCL general secretary Faisal Ahmed Runu said Bangladesh Post, “We always take action against those, who are found guilty in any unexpected incident.”

While asking about not taking action against those are accused previously including the recent Suhrawardy hall issue Runu stated, “We did not find them guilty and no such thing happened like beating or torturing.”
