Rosatom International Fishing Tournament held

Very recently, ‘ROSATOM’ Russian State nuclear corporation organized their second International Fishing Tournament 2022 in the waters of the Gulf of Finland. ROSATOMis headquartered in Moscow and has been functioningworldwide to produce safe nuclear energy-based electricity.ROSATOMstate-supervised organization started its journey in the year 2007 and it has been conducting its operation in 12 countries like Bangladesh, India, Hungary, Egypt etc.…

The key agenda of ROSATOM is to ensure a safe nuclear program while conserving nature by not destroying its ecological balance. Keeping this in focus, the organization annually organizes fishing competitions among the partnering members in the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LNPP)locatedon the shore of the Gulf of Finland. A common misconception and fearexist among mass people that nuclear programs are detrimental to nature and the areas in its vicinity, which further illustrates the chances of spreading harmful radiation. Keeping things in perspective and briefly sharing the technical operational method, each year the anglers and the media personnel from different countries of the world are brought into the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant(LNPP)nuclear power plant to show how electricity is being generated.

ROSATOM is one of the leading organizations in the world which has the resources to use nuclear technology for various purposes like scientific and medical science but is mostly reputed for its nuclear power plant installations.Domestically, the state corporation since its commencement provided 215.746TWh of electricity and accounted for 20.28% of Russia`s total electricity production.ROSATOM ranks first in overseas nuclear power plant construction, nuclear technology exchange, equipment manufacture, and production ofisotopes for nuclear medicine. Not only these but also kept its involvement in non-nuclear areas like supercomputers, software, research, and development.

In the present world context, fossil fuel (coal energy, thermal energy technology) is one of the key reasons for global warming and is detrimental to the conservation of nature (which affects the ozone layer mostly). Co2 gas emission is harmful to living organisms, but due to its low cost, the less developing countries often rely on this fossil fuel for the production of electricity, which overall destabilizes nature. Contrary to fossil fuel, nuclear-based electricity which is unlike other mentioned energy sources is completely different and the technology is far more advanced. To be mentioned, when comes nuclear power-based electricity, raises questions like whether it`s manageable in the terms of financial, technical and mostly safety and security contexts.Energy security is a key concern for nations around the globe and it’s not an exception in the case of Bangladesh. In the year 2009,a bilateral nuclear agreement was made between Bangladesh and the Russian government, and initially, a single plant was approved for construction. However, in the later year in 2010, approval for the instalmentof another plant was given, considering theextra electricity demand. The agreement between both governments set a new landmark in the history of the energy sector, especially for Bangladesh. Furthermore, it has been estimated that after being operational both the nuclear plants of Rooppur would be able to meet 10% of national demand.
