Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah has said that Rohingyas who have taken shelter in Cox's Bazar must return to Myanmar. But their return must be safe and voluntary. Rakhine will have to give them freedom to move freely, he added.

He said that human rights must be confirmed. In this regard, the ASEAN countries continue diplomatic work on Myanmar. The countries are very concerned about the Rohingya crisis, he said.

He said these while briefing reporters at the Jamtoli Mercy Malaysia Hospital on Sunday after visiting different Rohingya camps in Ukhia.

In response to one of the journalists' questions, he said, “We have a clear picture that the Rohingyas have been massacred in Myanmar. Ethnic elimination has been done. Rohingya Muslims have been victims of terrible torture. For that reason, more than one million Rohingyas crossed the border and were forced to take refuge in this Cox's Bazar region. Not only that, the same reason Myanmar's Rakhine displaced 150,000 Rohingyas, living their camps in their own country.”

The Malaysian government applauded the government of Bangladesh for their immediate shelter.

Malaysian Foreign Minister visited Malaysian Field Hospital in Ukhia in morning. He visited the Rohingya medical activities there. During this time, he interacted with the doctors. After that he visited Rohangi camp No. 17 at Palanghali.

Later, he visited Jamtoli Rohingya Camp. He exchanged views with doctors. Later, he distributed relief material among Rohingyas.

Noted that Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah came to Bangladesh on Saturday for a three-day visit.

In the evening, the Malaysian minister joined a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen at State guesthouse Padma. They discussed the issues of mutual interest. Issues related to trade, investment and manpower export were also discussed in the meeting.

Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, said the visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen the existing warm and friendly relations between the two countries.
