The organised international criminal networks in association with the local human traffickers are still luring Rohingyas to go to Malaysia for better life. Police have rescued 34 Rohingyas who were gathered at Cox's Bazar for trafficking and arrested two suspected traffickers on Sunday. The Rohingya group included eight men, 10 women and 16 children living in different refugee camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf,

On Sunday night, police were informed that a gang of human traffickers had gathered some Rohingyas at the Central Bus Terminal to traffic them out. An organised gang of traffickers brought them there using different transports from the camps, according to media report.

Uncertainty over repatriation of the stateless Rohingya refugees has led them to take the dangerous sea route to reach Malaysia amid life risk. As the ongoing political turmoil and armed conflicts in the Myanmar has made the repatriation of the displaced Rohingyas more difficult, they are getting frustrated and demoralised day by day.

By using the dangerous sea route, traffickers are helping Rohingyas to reach Malaysia where they begin working as illegal immigrants. Many of them perished or went missing at the rough sea during their journey. But they are still taking dangerous journeys across the Bay of Bengal to reach Malaysia.

The sea route from Bangladesh to Malaysia, via Thailand, was first used by Rohingyas in the mid-1990s. Earlier, Bangladesh coastguard and navy team had also rescued many Malaysia-bound Rohingyas, including women and several children, from trawlers.

The world community should come forward and take stringent measure to root out the human traffickers. It should be the priority of all countries across the globe to work together to this end.

Bangladesh government has developed temporary shelter for the Rohingyas in Bhashanchar Island with all the facilities where 30,000 Rohingyas have so far been shifted. But local people of Cox's Bazar are facing serious difficulties and sufferings because of them (Rohingyas).

The relocation arrangements can not be a permanent solution. Therefore, the repatriation process should be started immediately.
