A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a gunfight between two groups of Rohingyas at a refugee camp at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar early on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Noor Hakim, 27, a resident of Chakmarkul Rohingya Camp.
Commanding Officer of Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-16 Md Torikul Islam said that the gunfight took place between two groups of Rohingyas over establishing supremacy in Chakmarkul area under Waikong union of Teknaj upazila around 3:00am.
The criminals fled when APBn members rushed to the spot, said the commanding officer.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the bullet-hit body of Hakim and sent it to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The injured were admitted to different clinics.
Meanwhile, an employee of a shop was slaughtered to death allegedly by a Rohingya man at Kotbazar area at Ukhia upazila in Cox’s Bazar in the early hours.
The deceased was identified as Forkan Ahmed Kalu, 22, son of Bashir Ahmed of Ratpalong area of the upazila. He was murder by another employee of the shop who is a member of Rohingya community.
