Robert Pattinson will soon be seen playing the masked vigilante in Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’, but unlike the buff and brawny superhero physiques we have seen in the past, he teases at something else in store.
In an interview with Variety.com, the actor revealed that he is ‘barely doing anything’ to get into superhero shape. While we have seen actors like Christian Bale and Ben Affleck, beef up for the part, Rob says he is simply following a meal plan.
He went on to reveal that all he has been doing these past weeks under lockdown, is eating out of cans and following his diet plan while also “ignoring” his trainer.
Defending his presumably leaner but ripped action-hero role, he says, “I think if [other actors are] working out all the time, [they’re] part of the problem. You set a precedent. No one was doing this in the ’70s. Even James Dean — he wasn’t exactly ripped. Literally, I’m just barely doing anything.”
Meanwhile, in a recent report, co-star Andy Serkis opened up about the upcoming film and debunked rumours of the film being "darker, broodier" than other adaptations. Serkis, who plays Alfred in the film said, "I would say that's not far from the truth.
('The Batman') is very much about the emotional connection between Alfred and Bruce. That's really at the centre of it. And it is a really exquisite script that Matt (Reeves) has written."
‘The Batman’, that also stars Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Peter Sarsgaard and John Turturro was set to hit the screens on June 25, 2021. However, owing to delays in production, the film is now scheduled to release on October 1, 2021. —TOI
