Robbery in UZ chairman’s house

Munshiganj Sadar Upazila Chairman and District Liberation War Commander Anis Uzzaman Anis' house was robbed. It has been alleged that the robbers looted goods worth more than 50 lakh taka at gunpoint.

The robbery took place at Anis Uzzaman's house in Munshiganj's Central Courtgaon area around 2 am on Saturday. Munshiganj Superintendent of Police Abdul Momen visited the spot.

According to family sources, there are no bars on the window on the second floor of Anis Uzzaman's house. One of the robbers entered through that window first and then with his help 6-7 robbers entered with weapons through the other door of the house.

The robbers first entered the room of Anis Uzzaman's eldest son Akhtaruzzaman Rajib, former president of the district Juba League, and later entered his younger son Jalaluddin Rumi Rajan's room. Later, they entered the room of Upazila Chairman Anis Uzzaman. Anis Uzzaman's family complained to the police that the robbers looted 100 bhori gold ornaments and five lakh taka in cash at gunpoint. 

Munshiganj Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anisur Rahman said police were sent to the spot after receiving information about the robbery. No written complaint has been received in this regard yet. However, the police are trying to find those involved in the incident.
