Nandanpur UP Chairman Rabiul Islam Liton Molla handed over a robber to Police after catching him in Pabna’s Santhia on Thursday. Meanwhile, locals are expressing their discontent over the fact that Police could not arrest the other robbers of the case despite two days have passed.
It is learned that Siddikur Rahman, a shopkeeper at Jorgacha Bazar of Nandanpur union of the upazila, was returning to his home at Piyadah village at around 9 pm on Wednesday. When he reached Kalibari More area, a group of masked robbers attacked him. The robbers snatched Tk. 60,000 and mobile phone from Siddikur’s possession.
He told Nandanpur UP Chairman about the robbery. The Chairman cunningly caught one of the robbers named Masum. At that time, Masum confessed and returned the stolen mobile phone. Later, UP Chairman Rabiul handed him over to Santhia Police station.
Chairman Rabiul Islam Liton said he is passionate about maintaining peace in the area. Officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station Asaduzzaman said that proper actions would be taken in this regard.
