An unidentified bicyclist was killed as a tractor hit him in Akandabaria intersection area under Moharajpur union of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Saturday.
Officer-in-Charge of Chapainawabganj thana Md. Sajjad Hossain said the accident occurred when a sand-laden Shibganj-bound tractor hit a bicycle in the area around 11 am, leaving the bicyclist dead on the spot.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, the OC said.
Police recovered the body, detained the tractor and its driver Md. Durul, 40, son of Md. Mostofa of Babubazar village under Kansat union of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district, the OC added.
