Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hashan Mahmud said, 'BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi's statement regarding the August 21 grenade attack is a direct contempt of court, a challenge to the court and a criminal offense and I think legal action should be taken. '

He said this in response to a question about 'BNP leader Rizvi blaming Awami League leaders and foreigners for the August 21 incident' during an exchange of views with journalists after unveiling the cover of a book  in the meeting room of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.

Dr Hasan said, 'The statement made by BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is a direct contempt of court, a challenge to the court and a criminal offence. I think he should be prosecuted for contempt of court and criminal offence. Because a case has been filed on the 21st August grenade attack, a long judicial process has been adopted, and the trial has been completed after completing the evidence of the case. Many were hanged at trial and their acting chairman, Tariq Rahman, was sentenced to life imprisonment. Such talk about what has been settled and punished by the court is contempt of court, contempt of court and criminal offence.'

In response to a question about opening government offices from 8 am to 3 pm, the Broadcasting Minister said that this measure has been taken temporarily to reduce loadshedding in villages to facilitate irrigation and agriculture in our country. This season's paddy depends on irrigation and sunlight. Irrigation was not needed at that time, but due to insufficient rain this year, farmers are unable to plant paddy and do other farming activities. Now if we give them electricity for irrigation that will be very useful. If you start giving it after 10-15 days, it will not be of much use.

At this time, Dr Hasan said with a global example, such measures have been taken to save electricity in the whole world, including developed countries. Electricity supply for water heating has been cut off in European countries. In the UK, schools are held three days a week. Various measures have been taken in various places including Germany where electricity never went off after the Second World War. There is a global drought. This system is so that there is no crop loss in our country.

Before the minister, poet, journalist, songwriter and founder of Sophen Foundation. Khan unveiled the cover of the book 'Historical 7th March Epic' written by Asaduzzaman.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan said, 'In fact, the speech of March 7 is a timeless speech in world history. The speech through which Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman transformed an unarmed nation into an armed nation. He taught slogans to Bengalis who had been sleeping for thousands of years, 'Vir Bengalis take up arms, make Bangladesh independent'. When Bangabandhu announced that 'this time is a struggle for freedom, this time is a struggle for freedom', the Bengalis came out of the rally, chanting 'Bear Bengalis take up arms, make Bangladesh independent'. Bangabandhu's speech has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage document, that is, it is a unique speech in world history. Dr. to write poetry on this subject. I thank Khan Asaduzzaman, I thank and congratulate everyone associated with it, including the publisher.'
