An Awami League leader has been severely injured by miscreants during a factional clash in Naldanga upazila of Natore. The incident took place at Dhamanpara school ground in Naldanga upazila around 8:30 pm on Monday.
The victim’s name is Yusuf Ali Tutul, 42, a former member of Naldanga Thana Awami League. He was injured during an attack over a land dispute and domination against the union’s Awami League general secretary.
After the attack, Tutul was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition. However, later he was admitted to Dhaka Pongu Hospital from Rajshahi Medical College as the tendons in different parts of his body were found cut.
Relatives of the injured, locals and police said that Lokman Hossain, general secretary and UP member of Upazila Biprabelgharia Union Awami League and a resident of Dhamanpara village had a dispute over land and area of Yusuf Ali Tutul of the same village.
Due to this dispute, a group of 8/9 miscreants including Lokman Hossain's relatives Arif, Jasim, Asadur, Aminul Rahman attacked Tutul with sharp weapons while he was sitting in Dhamanpara school ground around 8:30 pm on Monday.
During the incident, limbs of his hands and legs were cut.hospital with first aid. OC of Naldanga Police Station Humayun Kabir said, a case has been filed in this regard. Currently, the situation is calm.”
