Rituparna Sengupta, a popular Kolkata actress, is going to perform under the banner of multimedia production of Chairman of ATN Bangla Mahfuzur Rahman. And Nargis Akhter is going to direct the film. The director confirmed of Rituparna acting in this film even though the name has not been finalized yet.
Nargis Akhter told Bangladesh Post, “This time the film will be created based on the story of women's rights. Rituparna had recently arrived in Dhaka on the invitation of the Indian High Commission. After listening to the story, she liked it very much. Rituparna has already signed the contract of acting in the film.”
She added, “My film ttiled ‘Joiboti Konyar Mon’ will be released in April. Soon we will start shooting new film after that. In the meantime, the writing of its story is over. Now the screenplay writing work is underway. And the film is being produced under the banner of the production company of ATN Bangla’s chairman Mahfuzur Rahman—Multimedia Production.”
Asked about who is acting opposite Rituparna, director Nargis Akhter said, “There were some preliminary talks with some actors from both Bangladesh and Kolkata. However, the matter is still not final. We are thinking of a hero who has already worked with Rituparna. The film will be produced in two languages, Bangla and English, for displaying at various international film festivals.”
Meanwhile, the film is based on the famous stage drama ‘Joiboti Konyar Mon’ by ‘Natacharya’ Selim Al Din. Nargis Akhter has written the screenplay and directed the film keeping the original story same. The film was produced by a grant from the government of Bangladesh.
