A rickshaw puller named Jahedul (38) died after being seriously injured by a broken electric wire on the road at Oxygen intersection of Bayezid police station in Chattogram city.
He died on Sunday afternoon while undergoing treatment in Ward No. 36 of CMC Hospital. Injured Jahed Ali's house is in Rangpur Lalmonirhat. He lived in Tannery Battol area of Chattogram. CMCH police outpost in-charge Nurul Alam Ashek confirmed the matter. He said that in the morning, the electrical wire near the Gawchiya pylon at Oxygen intersection fell on a moving rickshaw.
Immediately the rickshaw caught fire. The driver Jahedul Ali was burnt. On receiving the information, the fire service personnel rescued him and took him to Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital where he was admitted to Ward No. 36. He died while undergoing treatment in the afternoon.
