‘Remove illegal structures from banks of Mogra river’

Common people, environment activists and NGO workers demanded of the authorities concerned to remove illegal structures from both sides of the Mogra river in Netrakona for ensuring smooth flow of water of the river and saving environment.

They raised the demand at human chain programme, organised by Jono Uddug, a non-government organizations (NGOs), in front of Netrakona Press Club on Sunday. People from different circles including local journalists took part in the human chain. 

The human chain programme was presided over by Jono Uddug’s acting convener and Freedom Fighter Haider Jahan Chowdhury while it was addressed, among others, by Advocate Abdul Hannan Ranjan, vice-president of Netrakona Press Club, Babu Shaymolendu Paul, fellow of Jono Uddugh and secretary of Netrakona Press Club, Udchi President Mustafizur Rahman, Manager Nari Progoti Mrinal Kanti Chakrabarty, Ntv Journalists Bhajan Das, Journalist Sujadul Islam Farash, Journalist Altabur Rahman Kashem and Nari Netri Shilpi Bottacharjya. 

The speakers called upon the authorities concerned to take necessary steps immediately to remove diverted roads made both sides of the river. The said the construction material of newly Mukterpara bridge remain unused for long after completed the bridge. The speakers called for removing  wasted materials dumped in the river in order to save environment and ecological balanced.
