Removal of Tanore UNO demanded

On the allegation of filing of fabricated cases, arrest and threat to evict the Adibashi family members from their paternal properties, activists of Jatiya Adibashi Parishad formed a human chain demanding removal of Tanore UNO Pankaj Chandra Devnath and arrest of the alleged land-grabber Hamidur Rahman. 

The human chain was held at the Zero point of Shaheb Bazar on Sunday morning. After the end of the human chain programme, adibashi leaders submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Abdul Jalil. 

Presided over by President of JAP, Rajshahi, the human chain was attended and addressed, among others, by JAP central leader Gonesh Mardi, JAP Rajshahi Gen Secy Shushen Kumar Shyamduar, central leader Bibhuti Bhusan Mahato, Rajkumar Shao, Deben Murmu, Adibashi Chhatra Parishad leaders Tarun Munda, Sabitri Hembrom, Ratish Toppo and Uttam Kumar Mahato.

Kalpana Roy, President of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad also spoke at the programme.  

Speakers at the human chain demanded removal of Tanore UNO Pankaj Chandra Debnath and immediate arrest of land grabber, attacker on the houses of Adibashi family Hamidur Rahman. Speakers also 

  demanded to ensure security of affected Adibashi family members of Malshira village and to investigate into the incident of allegation of not distributing the allocated houses, goods and money properly among the Adibashi people. 

Speakers further mentioned on Nov-17 UNO Pankaj Chandra Debnath called at his office Adibashi Deben Murmu of village  Malshira for an arbitration but instead of sitting for an arbitration, he (UNO) ordered the police to arrest Deben by terming him a liar and a conspirator. 

He also told land grabber Hamidur to file a case against Deben. Aftermath of the incident, the victim adibashi family members have been living amid utter insecurity in the area, the adibashi speakers said at the human chain.  

Earlier on 23 Oct mid-night some 30 to 40 miscreants headed by land-shark Hamidur Rahman attacked the house of adibashi Deben Murmu and ransacked the house. The speakers said, land grabber Hamidur Rahman was claiming the paternal landed properly of Deben Murmu as his own and trying to evict Deben and his family members from the land and the house by threatening and attacking them.
