By receiving SMS through the hot-line, Biswajit Kumar Paul, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nabiganj in Habiganj, was delivering relief goods to the low and middle income group families of the upazila secretly at night.
Recipients of the relief were instantly getting assistance by sending the SMS to the hotlines of the Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj. Kamrul Islam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Habiganj, said that so far food assistance has been handed over to some 1,000 low income and middle income group of people and it is continuing. Such initiatives of the Habiganj administration has been lauded greatly by all quarters.
Sheon Begum, a housewife of Kargaon village said, she was happy by getting food materials delivered to her house at night. She said, her husband is a day labourer and they were nearly starving since her husband had no work for days. Later, she sent the message to the Deputy Commissioner through one of his neighbours and she got the assistance the same night.
