Reelected CRAB president meets Bashundhara MD

Newly-reelected Crime Reporters’ Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) president Mirza Mehedi Tamal, also Bangladesh Pratidin’s special correspondent, on Thursday met Basundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir at his office Bashundhara Industrial Headquarters in Dhaka.

During the meeting, Tamal welcomed the business conglomerate boss with bouquet. The Basundhara MD also welcomed Tamal for his victory in the CRAB elections.

In the meeting, Sayem Sobhan Anvir reiterated his commitment of continuously support to the organization and its members in any need, wishing for the prosperity of the association, according to a Basundhara Group press release.

Anvir said, “I hope CRAB, the organization of crime reporters, will always play a role in practising objective journalism. CRAB members will reveal the truth through honest and courageous inquiry. My request is not to create any news that creates unrest in the country. I had sided with CRAB and its members in the past. Inshallah, you will find me by your side in any need in the future.”

Among others, ABG Technologies Adviser Mustafa Azad Mohiuddin, Head of Finance of Basundhara Group Noore Alam Siddiqui, Kaler Kantho Deputy Editor Haider Ali, News 24 Television Deputy Chief News Editor Ashiqur Rahman Shraban and Bangladesh Pratidin Business Editor Ruhul Amin Russell were present during the courtesy call.

Earlier, the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) had a courtesy meeting with Sayem Sobhan Anvir on May 8 last year.

At that time, he had assured that CRAB would soon have its own permanent office. Later on December 22, Bashundhara MD made his speech by inaugurating the new office of CRAB at Rupayan FPAB Tower in Nayapaltan in the capital.

At the same time, the Bashundhara MD said that after 36 years, you have got a permanent place. I will try to give you a better place in the future. I will make a beautiful building where you can conduct your activities efficiently.
