Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BRCS) Chittagong Unit Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election-2023 held.
On Saturday morning in the premises of Chittagong Red Crescent Unit, the annual general meeting started with recitation of the Quran by hoisting the national and Red Crescent flags.
Red Crescent Chittagong District Unit and Zila Parishad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam presided over the event. Central Vice Chairman of the Society Nur Ur Rahman, Treasurer MA Salam, Chief Election Commissioner Md Didarul Alam, Secretary Md Aslam Khan, Councilor Hasan Mahmud Hasni, City Vice Chairman Alamgir Parvez, Executive Members, Life and Annual Members and Youth the members
Unit Secretary Md Aslam Khan presented the 2023 report of the unit, 2022 audit report, 2023 income-expenditure and annual report and 2024 possible budget. The Life and Annual Members present at the meeting unanimously approved it. A total of 13 candidates are contesting for 7 positions of the Executive Council in the unit executive committee elections after the annual general meeting.
In the president's speech, ATM Pearul Islam said that Red Crescent stands by the side of people affected by war and natural disasters by donating blood, praying for humanity. Like all over the world Red Crescent conducts various activities in Bangladesh. Red Crescent continues to provide food aid, vaccination, distribution of health awareness motivational leaflets, oxygen cylinders to deal with the epidemic situation of Corona. He said, requested the concerned people to take necessary measures so that the winter season people get enough winter clothes. Able to implement clean accounting. Service performance in other sectors has been improved along with increasing hospital revenue. The hospital has been able to bring back the tradition of taking various plans including celebrating different days. The income has increased from 35-40 lakhs to 1 crore 8 lakhs taka. 8 months salary was due. Now 6 months salary has been paid remaining 2 months salary will be paid. As a result, doctors, hospital officials and employees are providing services automatically, thereby improving the quality of service.
After voting in the election, Chittagong District Red Crescent Society and District Council Chairman ATM Pearul Islam said, "Today is a happy day for all." By taking charge of this unit I was able to bring revolutionary changes.
