The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has started distributing Ramadan food package among 15,300 poor, helpless and Covid-19 affected families of the country with the support of the Qatar Red Crescent.

The package includes dates, dal, soyabean oil, sugar, salt, puffed rice, chira, semai, and suji, among others. Those donations will go to Rajshahi, Munshiganj, Narayanaganj and Cox’s Bazar districts, apart from the Dhaka city areas.

Members of the Rohingya community already got the donation on Sunday.

The Red Crescent is helping the government with its volunteers from the beginning of the pandemic.

During the ongoing lockdown, it has distributed cooked food among the poor floating people.

In Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camps, they also distributed hygiene kits, bathing soaps and laundry soaps.

Meanwhile, the Red Crescent said they would continue to distribute food relief among the cyclone hit people of Khulna, Shatkhira, Bagerhat and Pirojpur with the support of HSBC Bank.
