Recreation centres witness huge crowds

The recreational centres in the capital and elsewhere in the country have continued witnessing huge presence of holidaymakers as enthusiasm and pleasure centring the Eid-ul-Fitr still persist across the country. Country’s different recreational centres including parks, safari parks, zoos and cinema halls witnessed huge crowds on Friday as people of different ages have gathered to add more colour in their Eid celebration.
Thousands of people, especially children and youth poured in city parks, places of historical interests, and other recreation centres on the weekly holiday.
Although the numbers of visitors were less on the Eid day due to inclement weather, people started gathering at different recreational centres from Thursday with an improvement in the weather condition. Bangabandhu Safari Park at Gazipur, National Zoo at Mirpur, Lalbagh Fort, Zinda Park, Ramna Park, Shyamoli Shishu Mela, and Chandrima Udyan in the capital witnessed huge crowds on Thursday and Friday. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park became the centre of recreation on Eid holidays. People with their family members came to the safari park to enjoy their holiday moments more enthusiastically. They enjoyed their moments by watching different types of birds, tiger, deer, monkey, snake, crocodile and other animals in the park. According to the park authority, the Bangabandhu safari park has been divided into five parts that include core safari, safari kingdom, biodiversity park, extensive Asian safari and Bangabandhu square.While visiting the park on Thursday, this correspondent found massive crowd in the Core Safari Park. Various types of animals including tigers, lions, deer, zebra, and giraffes were roaming freely inside the boundary. Visitors need to use minibus to see those animals in the park.
According to park authority, “There are now eight minibuses to carry visitors at the Core Safari Park. On an average, 30 passengers can board in at each minibus. It takes around 25-30 minutes to make a round in the park by bus.” Considering the additional visitors to the Eid, two other similar vehicles were arranged in Core Safari Park on Thursday. On Friday, Shyamoli Shishu Mela in the capital became the centre of attraction of the people of young ages and children.Capital’s other amusement centres including National Zoo at Mirpur, Lalbagh Fort, Zinda Park, Ramna Park, Chandrima Udyan also witnessed huge crowd on Friday. Besides, Eid gatherings of children and cultural functions were also held at different places.
Vehicular movement and pedestrians on the normally busy streets of the city were very thin. The buzzing city life became soothe as thousands of people left for their village homes to celebrate the Eid with their near and dear ones. Apart from this, a large number of holidaymakers thronged different tourist spots across the country such as Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Kuakata, and St Martin’s Island, to enjoy their holiday.
