In the Jamalpur Senior Assistant Judge's Court, a record number of cases were disposed of in just 32 working days during July and August. During this time, 448 cases were settled.
According to court sources, 508 testimonies were taken on the said working day. Among them, one-sided witnesses were accepted 144, two-sided witnesses were accepted 364. There were 68 unilateral orders and 30 bilateral judgments. 344 disposals including rejection and withdrawal including disposal of six ADRs.
Earlier cases were 2 thousand 687. After settlement, there are currently 2 thousand 239 cases under trial in Sadar Court. It is known that Judge Iqbal Mahmud of this court oversees every case from the beginning to the end and the learned judge takes necessary measures in those cases. In addition, orders of important cases are given in the court itself. The learned judge is trying his best to settle the old cases on priority basis. Judge Iqbal Mahmud disposed of 217 cases in just 16 working days before participating in the military orientation training on August 25. Associated officers and employees related to the court's activities said that learned Judge Iqbal Mahmud closely observes and practices each case. His sincerity and loyalty are exemplary. He considers team work and staff as a supporting force in every work. He has been playing a very active role since he joined the court.
Talking to several lawyers, it is known that Iqbal Mahmud is setting a unique example to speed up the proceedings and reduce the suffering of litigants. If every judge works with such speed, the mountain of accumulated cases will be broken. We are happy that the case was settled so quickly, one of the plaintiffs told this representative in an emotional language after receiving the judgment of the case in a quick time.
