Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has taken up steps for safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours of slaughtering on the holy Eid-ul –Azha. As part of the efforts, the RCC has fixed 210 selective spots in 30 wards for slaughtering sacrificial animals on Wednesday's Eid-Ul-Azha in the city.

City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton revealed this while addressing a meeting with ward councilors, secretaries and others concerned on “Slaughtering Sacrificial Animals and Waste Removal” held at City Bhaban conference hall here today.

With Chief Executive Officer Dr Sharif Uddin in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Ward Councilor Towhidul Haque and Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun.

Mayor Liton said the city corporation is working for safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within 12 hours so that the city residents can see a neat and clean environment within the shortest possible time.

He urged the city dwellers to slaughter the animals only in selected places for keeping the metropolis along with its air and water free from pollution and other contamination.

The mayor laid the importance of planned and hygienic slaughtering of animals for protecting the public health from lethal COVID-19.
