Presidium Member of AL and RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton placed floral tribute at the foot of portrait of Father of Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Baker Hostel in Kolkata of West Bengal on Wednesday noon.
Bangabandhu used to reside at room-24 of the hostel during his study there. Shahin Akhter Reni, VP of Rajshahi city unit of AL and wife of the Mayor Liton was also present during this time. They also offer prayers seeking salvation of soul of Bangabandhu.
After paying the tribute, RCC Mayor and his wife also visited the room-24 of the Baker Hostel at watched the furniture like the Cot, Chair, Table and Almirah which were used by Bangabandhu.
Bangabandhu used to live at that room of the gov't Baker Hostel established in 1910. He had been living there since 1942 to 1047 during his study at Islamia College in Calcutta.
Later the name of college has been changed as Maulana Azad College.
After visiting the Baker Hostel and the room of Bangabandhu Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman met with the Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University and attended a workshop there as the chief guest.
