RCC launches cleanliness campaign

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched a cleanliness campaign and motivational programme at all its 30 wards to mark the Mujib Barsha-2020, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, aimed at making the city clean, green and habitable.

The city corporation administration along with its ward offices brought out rallies in all the 30 ward areas simultaneously on Wednesday afternoon to make the efforts a total success. ‘Support Rajshahi City Corporation to build clean village, clean city, green, clean everywhere, environment-friendly and habitable’ was the main slogan of the rally.

City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the programme and participated in a rally in Kadirgonj area. Ward Councilor Abdul Momin and Chief Executive Officer Shawgatul Alam accompanied the mayor in the rally. All the existing drains, bushes and landfills will be brought under cleanliness drives. Mayor Liton said the city corporation has started conducting special crush programmes for cleanliness. In phases, all the major installations and institutions will be brought under the programme.
