A Magura court has set up a rare example in judgment. According to the judgement, the convict has to fulfill several conditions including reading books on Liberation War and planting trees to avoid six months of imprisonment. This extraordinary judgment was delivered by Chief Judicial Magistrate of Magura Md. Ziaur Rahman on Tuesday in a case of village clash.
The convict was identified as Ibrarhim Hossen, 30, son Hannan Mollah of Harekhrishnapur villege under Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura. State side lawyer Syed Amir Ali informed, Saila Akhter of village Harekrishnapur got injured in a clash that took place on September 15 of 2017.
Then Md Rocky son of Shaila filed a case in this regard with Mohammadpur police station. The Magistrate delivered the judgement after examining case records and witnesses’ statement in that case.
The judgment imposed sevent conditions for Ibrahim in the place of 6 months imprisonment. The conditions are- not to be involved in a clash in future, behaving well with others, not to use drug, not to mix with bad companions, responding immediately to a call by court and law enforcing agency, reading 2 books on liberation war respectively ‘Ekattarer Dinguli’ and ‘Ekattarer Chithi’ and 2 more books on Islam and moral teaching and watching a Liberation War based cinema named ‘Aguner Poroshmoni’ and finally planting 5 trees.
The convict has to fulfill these conditions within a year under the supervision of a probationer. In default to fulfill the conditions the convict will get 6-month imprisonment.
