Police have arrested a fugitive accused in a rape case under Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj District. The name of the arrested person is Amin (23), son of Nurul Islam of Ananda Bazar village in Jalalpur union under Katiadi upazila of the district.
On Wednesday (July 15) afternoon, a team of police led by Sub-Inspector Dulal arrested Amin, the third accused in the case from Pulerghat Bazar in Pakundia Upazila on the instructions of Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katiadi Model Police Station M.A Jalil.
According to police sources, the family members went to a nearby house on June 8 to collect paddy. On that day the accused Hriday's accomplices abducted the girl and took her to Hriday's house. There he was raped and left in a corn field next door.
After much searching, her father found the girl with her hands and face tied in the corn field last Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, for proper trial, the girl's mother filed a rape complaint with the Katiadi Model Police Station.
Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Dulal said the accused have been absconding since the incident. Amin, the third accused in the case, has been arrested.
