A daring burglary took place at the Shri Shri Annada Thakur Adyapeeth Ramakrishna Sangha Temple in Raozan on Monday night. The temple, located in Uttar Gujra village under East Gujra Union (Ward No. 1), was broken into by thieves who entered through a window on the eastern side of the temple.
According to reports, the thieves broke the window grille and stole approximately 2.5 bhori (about 29 grams) of gold ornaments from the idol of Goddess Kali, as well as money from the temple’s donation box.
Temple priest Tapon Chakraborty said the incident occurred sometime during the night and was discovered in the morning. A formal complaint has been filed, and police have begun an investigation.
Shyamal Palit, president of the temple committee, called the incident deeply unfortunate and appealed to the police for swift action to identify and arrest the culprits.
