Rangpur division saw zero Covid-19-related death for the third day in a row during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Wednesday.
"Zero Covid death was recorded on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday," focal person on the Covid-19 for Rangpur division Dr ZA Siddiqui said.
Health officials said the Covid-19 situation has improved significantly in the division, where 1,218 people died of deadly virus so far, during the last five consecutive weeks.
They said that of the COVID deaths in the division, 290 were reported in Rangpur, 79 in Panchagarh, 87 in Nilphamari, 65 in Lalmonirhat, 66 in Kurigram, 246 in Thakurgaon, 322 in Dinajpur and 63 in Gaibandha districts.
The average casualty rate currently stands at 2.24 percent Rangpur division.
The number of Covid-19 cases reached 54,302 as 51 new patients were diagnosed after testing 848 samples in Rangpur division at the daily positivity rate of 6.01 percent on Tuesday.
