Bangladeshi cultural troupe, supported by Cultural Ministry and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), gave an array of spectacular performances at a 15-day festival titled ‘Ramadan Cultural Nights’ held at Cairo Opera House in Egypt.
The activities of the festival started with a performance by the Arabic Opera Ensemble on May 15 and came to an end on May 29. Bangladeshi troupe consisting Nazrul Sangeet singer Sujit Mustafa, folk singer Tuntun Baul, pop singer Mehreen Mahmud and Rabindra Sangeet singer Shahnaz Nasrin Ila performed on May 27.
At the festival the artistes were accompanied by instrumental musicians Binod Ray, Atiqur Rahman, Shah Kamal, Nayan Mia and Shuvro.
Led by Deputy Secretary of Cultural Ministry Sania Akter, BSA Cultural Officer Abu Saleh Mohammad Abdullah and member of BSA Habibur Rahman coordinated the troupe.
After performances, the troupe visited historical places of Egypt and returned to the country yesterday.
The shows of the festival also included a collection of exhibitions of traditional arts and crafts as well as various art shows which all took place at the northern Cairo wall.
