Rally, procession banned in N’ganj

In exercise of the power conferred under section 144 crpc, the District Magistrate of Narayanganj banned all processions, rallies and public gatherings in the city area in order to prevent apprehended breach of peace and any aggravation of the situation. 

One Moulana Alauddin Jihadi also leader of district unit Ahle sunnat woal Jammat delivered a derogatory speech on his Face book wall about late Moulana Shah Ahmed Allama Shofi. This speech hurt the religious sentiments. As a result, one Harunur Rashid filed a case in this connection with Fatulla model police station.  Police arrested Moulana Alauddin Jihadi on September 20.

After that Ahle Sunnat Woal Jammat demanded bail of arrested moulana Alauddin Jihadi while the counterpart of Narayanganj Hefajote Islam unit demonstrated against bail procedures.

According to the previous decision, both the groups were prepared to take to the road in the city demonstrating showdown of one group against the other.

Sensing the adverse and hostile atmosphere the district administration issued and imposed orders under section-144 crpc in the city to avert any untoward situation, with effect from Sunday morning 6 am until further order.  Additional District Magistrate Khadiza Tahira Bobi confirmed it.

However, Moulana Alauddin Jihadi got bail from the Narayanganj court on Sunday. Officer -in -Charge of Narayanganj Sadar model police station Md. Asaduzzaman told that he suggested both party leaders on Saturday night and gave conditions if one tried to take to the road or form a rally would be arrested.
