No area of Rajshahi district is still under 'Red Zone' for Coronavirus infection that is why the district is still free from strict lock-down, informed Dr. Enamul Haque, Civil Surgeon of Rajshahi on Tuesday morning.

CS Dr. Enamul clarified if 10 persons among 100,000 people of any area are attacked with Coronavirus, the area is identified as the Red Zone.

There having no such numbers of infections in any area, no area of the district has so far been identified as Red Zone and thus there was no lock-down as well.

According to a report of Office of the CS, Rajshahi, so far 145 patients suffering from Covid-19 have been identified of which 49 have been identified under Rajshahi city areas inhabited by 7,34,000 people. As a result, the city is still under the purview of the Red Zone.

Coronavirus has been detected among 18 persons in Mohanpur  upazila, the highest number in an upazila and 11 in Bagha, 14 in Charghat, 11 in Puthia, five in Durgapur, 11 in Bagmara, 17 in Tanore, eight in Paba and one in Godagari Upazilas of the district.  Of the infected, 44 were cured, three died and 98 are still fighting with the virus.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Ensamul Haque further said, there is nothing to be satisfied or to be easing by living at the Green Zone. People were unabatedly violating the health rules and social distancing elsewhere in the district and in the city.

The consciousness among people should be increased, otherwise, it will take no time to transform the Green Zone into a Red Zone. There is no alternative to live and healthy, hygienic life by maintaining health rules, he concluded.
