Rajshahi Press Club and Ataur Rahman Memorial Association jointly started distributing warm clothes among the poor and destitute people of the region from Monday (January 3).
In observance of the 42nd death anniversary of former district Governor, MNA Ataur Rahman, on January 12 and 55th death anniversary of one of the founders of Rajshahi University Mather Baux on January 20, Rajshahi Press Club and Ataur Rahman Memorial Association (ARMA) started the programme of distribution of warm clothes among the poor people of the district during the winter season.
President of Rajshahi Press Club Saidur Rahman inaugurated the distribution of warm clothes among poor and helpless people on Rajshahi Press Club premises on Monday morning.
Among others the programme was attended by General Secretary of Rajshahi Press Club Advocate Aslam Ud Dowla, Vice-President of ARMA Salauddin Mintu, Joint Secretary of Rajshahi Press Club Nure Islam Milon, Publicity Secretary of ARMA Amanullah Aman and Member Rafiqul Hasan.
President of Rajshahi Press Club and ARMA Ataur Rahman said, “Every year the organisations distribute warm clothes and blankets to the helpless, poor and distressed people of Rajshahi during the winter.”
He sought cooperation from all financially solvent people of the society to stand beside them and come forward to help the poverty-stricken people during the chilling cold of winter. The programme will continue till January 20.
