Aiming to supply Oxygen to Covid-19 infected police and various professional members free of cost, Police Covid Oxgen Bank has been inaugurated by Rajshahi Metropolitan police on Tuedsay. The Oxygen Bank has been formed with 50 cylinders which will soon be increased to 100.
RMP sources in a press release informed, often there is a shortage of Oxygen at the hospital and sometimes Oxygen is required at the houses and the procuring of Oxygen is often troublesome. Considering the drawbacks, RMP Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique took the initiative to form the Police Covid Oxygen Bank.
RMP Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique informed in a press conference at RMP headquarters on Tuesday noon said, according to the health specialists the patient attacked with the second wave of Corona suffer from berthingproblem that is why they require Oxygen from their first phase of attack. Aiming to assist those Corona infected patients including the police members free of cost, RMP has formed the Oxygen Bank with 50 cylinders. Within a couple of days, the number of Oxygen cylinders will be increased to 100, he added.
RMP Commissioner further said there is no central Oxygen supply system in the hospitals and the clinics of Rajshahi excepting in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. It will require two to three months more to instal and inaugurate the services of central Oxygen supply system in other hospitals of the district.
He requested to contact the RMP control room over mobile number-01320-063998 to get a free supply of Oxgen cylinders for the Covid patients suffering from breathing problem at home. The press conference was attended, among others, by Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Sujayet Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operation) Majid Ali, Deputy Police Commissioner (sadar) Rashidul Hasan and Deputy Police Commissioner (Boalia) Said Hossain.
