Rain likely, temperature may rise

According to the meteorological department forecast, temperature will rise again in the next two days. It further said that it may rain for the next two days.

After heavy rainfall, a cold spell swept in 7 districts and one upazila of the country from Sunday. Within a day, the cold wave is on to 4 districts and one upazila.

On Sunday, a mild cold wave was experienced in Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Kunrigram, Jessore, Chuadanga, Pabna, Moulvibazar districts and Sitakundu upazila.

On Monday, the mild cold wave limited to Rangpur division including Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Naogaon district and Sitakundu upazila. The meteorological department forecast suggests that it could be alleviated from some places.

On Monday morning, the lowest temperature in the country was 6.8 degrees Celsius in Tentulia. The lowest temperature of the country was 7.6 degrees Celsius at the same district on Sunday. However, in the morning, the minimum temperature in Dhaka dropped slightly from 13 degrees to 12.3 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Meteorologist Abul Kalam told the Bangladesh Post that the weather across the country may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies on Tuesday. The northwestern and river basins of the country may experience moderate to heavy fog and light to moderate fog elsewhere in the country.

The meteorologist also said, “The night and day temperatures may rise slightly across the country at this time. Furthermore, it may rain in the next two days.

According to meteorological forecasts, the extension of the sub-continental high pressure zone is in West Bengal and adjoining areas and the normal seasonal low pressure is located in the South Bay.
