The impact of nor'wester and continuous rainfall is increasing. Throughout Saturday, there was rainfall in eight divisions of the country. Due to this situation, the Meteorological Department has also forecast a slight decrease in temperature.

There has been light and heavy rain in all the divisions except Chittagong in the last 24 hours from Friday morning. The highest rainfall on Saturday was recorded 38 mm in Sylhet.

The city dwellers are getting a relief from intense heat due to the rain. Parts of Dhaka also experienced some rain during the evening on Saturday.

The heat has been intense for some time now in almost all parts of the country, including Dhaka. The highest temperature during the time crossed 40 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam said that in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Sunday, some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a few of places in Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions are likely to experience temporary gusts of wind and lightning with rain. At the same time, there may be hailstorms in some parts of the country as well.

During this time, day temperatures may drop slightly across the country and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged, he said.

The meteorologist further said, "Mild heat wave is blowing over Khulna division including Tangail, Gopalganj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rangamati, Rajshahi and Pabna districts and it may subside in some areas."

He also said that the trend of rain or thunderstorms may continue for the next two days.

On the other hand, the weather forecast on Saturday suggests that Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Cumilla and Sylhet areas are likely to experience rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusts of wind. River ports in these areas have been asked to display the No. 1 naval warning signal.
