Rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that rain or thundershowers may occur in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am, reports BSS.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions and the regions of Jashore and Kushtia,” said a Met office bulletin issued on Monday morning.

As an extended outlook for the next 48 hours, the bulletin predicted that the rainfall and thundershower activity might increase. Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it added. Light fog may occur at some places over the country during early morning on Tuesday. However, night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may fall slightly over the country. 

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 32.5 degrees Celsius in both Chandpur in Chattogram and Patuakhali in Barishal, while Monday’s minimum temperature was 12.3 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat in Rangpur. The sun sets at 5:59 pm on Monday and rises at 6:25 am Tuesday in the capital.
