People in the district town got relief from the scorching summer heat as it finally rained in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday morning after several weeks of continuous heatwave.
Weather office said the rain will continue for some more days and temperature started falling due to rain. The humidity was 77 percent at 9:00am on the day while it was 94 percent during rain at 12:00pm.
People prayed for rain in different parts of the district in the last couple of weeks amid the sweltering heat. So, people of the beach town are very happy after rain.
Md Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist of Cox’s Bazar office, said there are chances of rain on Friday and the temperature will come down after more rain.
He said the temperature was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday. The met office recorded 11 millimetre rainfall in the last 24 hours till 12:00pm on Thursday.
