Railway East Zone to add 60 new coaches during Eid

With a view to ease the sufferings of passengers during upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, a total of 60 coaches will be added to different trains in the Railway’s East Zone.

For this, they are being repaired at the railway's Pahartali workshop in Chattgram. The repairing work is going on in full swing to make the supply on time.

According to the sources, the railway eastern zone has conducting about 800 passenger transport coaches. Among them 730 coaches remain good but rest of the 70 coaches required repairing.

Md Mohiuddin, Caretaker of Pahartali factory, Railway Eastern Division, said that in order to facilitate the Eid, 70 of 800 coaches in the east are brought to under construction. The coaches will be handed over to the Transport Department on June 1st.

Syed Faruq Ahmad, General Manager of Railway Eastern said that, 60 additional coa­ches will be provided from Pahartali targe­ting the coming Eid. Apart from the demand, the additional coaches are being repaired with the maximum use of the factory manpower. Hopefully, the sufferings of the passengers will be removed, he added.

The coaches will be added to make the journey of the home-bound passengers during the Eid more comfortable.
