Shaheed Raihan, an HSC candidate from Gulshan Commerce College, passed away on August 5 after joining the anti-discrimination student movement in Dhaka’s Badda area. He was shot during a victory procession and lost his life that day. His tragic death left his family devastated. Almost two and a half months later, his HSC exam results were released, and he passed with a GPA of 2.92.

Raihan's parents, who had been mourning since his death, broke down in tears again when they heard the news of his result. His mother, Amena Khatun, expressed her grief, saying, "My son is no longer alive. What will happen with this result now? He deserved better. He was brilliant." She shared how she sacrificed everything to support his education, only for their dreams to be shattered by a bullet. "I fed him without eating myself so he could study in Dhaka. All our dreams ended with his death," she added.

Raihan’s father, Md. Mozammel Hossain, worked as a caretaker in Badda, while Raihan lived in a nearby mess. His father continues to cry over the loss of his son, who had many hopes for the future.

Raihan’s sister, Urmi Akhter, shared, “My brother was a very good student. His behavior was always kind. Our parents haven’t stopped crying since they heard the result.”

MA Kalam, the principal of Gulshan Commerce College, mentioned that Raihan passed with a GPA of 2.92, but he deserved higher. "His death still saddens us all. I hope the government stands by his family," he said.

Raihan was buried on August 6 at the family cemetery. His passing has left a deep void in his family and community.
