Race for cancer awareness

Himu Paribahan, an organization of Humayun Ahmed’s fans, held a race on Friday marking the World Cancer Day for the fourth time.  The race started from TSC on DU campus and ended at the same place. The event was organised in collaboration with Sakara World Hospital. More than four hundred people from all walks of life participated in the event. 

Among others, founder of ‘Unmad’ cartoonist Ahsan Habib, first female Everest climber of Bangladesh Nishat Majumdar, Deputy Director of Bangla Academy Dr Aminur Rahman Sultan, Associate Professor of National Cancer Research Institute and Hospital Habibullah Talukder Ruskin were present at the time. 

Certificates were distributed among the participants after the race. In addition, Himu Paribahan is conducting various programs throughout the city marking World Cancer Day.
