Novelists Rabeya Khatun and Sadat Hossain have been rewarded with the ‘Exim Bank-Onyadin Humayun Ahmed Sahitya Puraskar-2019’.
The rewards were handed over to them at a function held on Tuesday afternoon at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of the Bangla Academy.
Foreign Affairs Minister AK Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest at the function while lawmaker Asaduzzaman Nur attended as a special guest.
The function was chaired by National Professor, Dr Anisuzzaman.
The function was attended among others by a mentionable number of educationalists and learned personnel from different sector. The function was launched through the dance performances by prominent artist Moonmoon Ahmed and a group of children. According to the organisers of the function, Rabeya Khatun has been rewarded with the ‘Exim Bank-Onyadin Humayun Ahmed Sahitya Puraskar-2019’ for her overall contribution to the Bengali literature while Sadat Hossain for his contribution to the Bengali literature through his book titled ‘Nisongo Nakshtra’.
