RAB nabs smugglers from truck in Kishoreganj

They were smuggling huge quantity of hemp in a rod truck. Then RAB-14 (CPC-2) caught them on Wednesday midnight (May 11). RAB set up a check post in Poolerghat area of Sadar upazila. While operating the check post, RAB members searched the truck if the movement of a truck was suspicious. Later, Yakub Ali and Momin Mia were arrested along with 16 kg and 400 grams hemp, Tk 1,400 in cash for selling drugs and 13 tonnes of rods in the truck.

Arrested Md. Yakub Ali is the son of Mofiz Uddin of Batamtila village in Ramgarh upazila of Khagrachhari district and Momin Mia is the son of Belal Mia of the same village.

RAB-14, CPC-2, Kishoreganj Camp Company Commander Major Md. Shahriar Mahmud Khan said that based on secret information, RAB-14, CPC-2, Kishoreganj Camp could find out that a drug cartel carrying drugs from Chittagong to Mymensingh via Bhairab and Kishoreganj. 

On the basis of this news, an expedition team of RAB set up a check post in Poolerghat area of Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila on Tuesday night and arrested them along with 16 kg 400 gram hemp, cash and 13 tons of rods. During the preliminary interrogation, both confessed to being involved in drug dealing. A case has been filed against them in Kishoreganj Model Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act 2018.
