Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a drive, held a drug peddler with 42 kilograms of hemp from Madhabpur Upazila of Habiganj district on Sunday.
The arrested was identified as Rupon Ali, 23, hailed from Bishwanath Upazila in Sylhet district.
Being informed, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Dak Bungalow area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway last night and nabbed Rupon with the quantity of hemp, said Senior Assistant Police Super Afsan-Al-Alam, media officer of the RAB-9, on Sunday.
"A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act," he said, adding that the arrested person was handed over to Madhobpur Thana Police.
