RAB nabs accused convicted of 3 murders

After 20 years, RAB-7 arrested the accused who was sentenced to life imprisonment in three murder cases.

 Arrested Abul Kalam Chowdhury (70) son of deceased Abdul Latif Chowdhury of Charia Kazi Para under Hathazari police station.

 According to RAB, Abul Kalam Chowdhury had been quarreling for a long time with the three brothers Abul Bashar, Badshah and Kashem who were killed due to a land dispute.  Based on that source, on May 26, 2003, while having tea in the shop, Abul Kalam Chowdhury and his accomplices brutally killed the three brothers in Kazipara by hacking and shooting them.

 Kazi Mofazal Master, the brother of the deceased, filed a case at Hathazari police station as the plaintiff.  In the case, Abul Kalam Chowdhury and 20 people were charged in the court.

 RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Md Nurul Abshar said that Abul Kalam Chowdhury, who has been on the run for 20 years and was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of three murders, was arrested on the basis of secret information that he was hiding in a rented house in Chandgaon in the city to avoid arrest. Later on the basis of the evidence, after the long trial process, the court sentenced the accused Abul Kalam Chowdhury to life imprisonment and ordered a fine of 50 thousand taka.

 It has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
