Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in three separate anti-crime drives, arrested seven alleged drug peddlers with 208 bottles of phensedyl and 1,035 liters of liquor in Rajshahi and Natore districts last night, RAB sources said on Saturday.
The arrested persons were identified as San Muhammad, 40, Abul Khayer, 24, Rana Malitha, 26, Shymal Kumar, 37, Rasel Karim, 45, Rakib Raihan, 23, and Manik Hossain, 27.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at Char Asariadaha village under Godagari Upazila in the district and arrested San Muhammad and Khayer with 184 bottles of phensedyl red-handed.
Another RAB team arrested Rana Malitha and Shymal with 1,035 liters of liquor after conducting a raid at Majhgram village under Lalpur Upazila in Natore district.
After condicting another raid at Kalupara village under the same upazila, the elite force arrested Rasel, Rakib and Manik with 24 bottles of phensedyl.
Later, the arrested persons along with the seized contraband goods were handed over to police.
Three separate cases were filed with the respective police stations in these connections.
