RAB moves to bring back tortured female workers from KSA

Rapid Action Battalion successfully initiated to return a victim of human trafficking from Saudi Arabia.

Talking to the Bangladesh Post, RAB-4 Commanding Officer Md Mozammel Haque confirmed it on Thursday.

He told that the returned victim was identified as Nazma Begum, 38.

Earlier on October 30, a team of RAB-4 raided at the officer of Ayat Overseas in city’s Tejgaon area.

The elite force arrested seven members of international human trafficking syndicate. Another victim who was identified as Najma, 30, Akter was returned from Saudi Arabia on October 30.

Najma Akter described how she was brutally tortured in Saudi Arabia.

She also disclosed that another three victims --- MsNazma Begum, Dipti Akter and Ms Roksana Akter were also being tortured keeping them hostage at a broker office in Dammam city of Saudi Arabia.

Previously returned victim Najma Akter also stated that her three Bangladeshi colleagues were too tortured to move. Getting such tragic information, we started our initiatives to bring back the tortured victims from Saudi Arabia, said Mozammel Haque, who is also a Adl DIG.

Following the move, among the three victims, Nazma Begum was returned to Bangladesh through Al Arafa Travels on Wednesday.    

She told us that she was being hostage at a local office for more than one and half months. Later she was sold to an Arab family. But the Arab family members started brutal tortures including giving electric shocks.

RAB-4 chief said, we are restlessly working to return back the remaining two victims from Saudi Arabia.
