RAB DIG Khurshid goes on retirement

Outgoing Director General of Rapid Action Battalion M Khurshid Hossain on Tuesday called on Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun at Police Headquarter.

A reception ceremony was also held marking his retirement, said a press release of the Police Headquarters.

IGP presided over the function.

M Khurshid Hossain went on retirement on Tuesday after a long and distinguished service of more than 33 years, said the PHQ handout.

While addressing the farewell ceremony, IGP said that M Khurshid Hossain had performed his duties professionally for the welfare of the country and the people. He wished the outgoing officer a beautiful and healthy life. In the event, other senior police officers gave a speech highlighting various aspects of the outgoing officer's work and personal life. Additional IGPs Md. Kamrul Ahsan, Md. Monirul Islam,  Heads of various units of Dhaka Police and other senior officers were present in the event. It may be noted that M Khurshid Hossain joined Bangladesh Police as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 12th BCS (Police) batch on 20 January 1991. He served as DIG in Rajshahi Range and Police Headquarters with great efficiency and reputation. He took charge of RAB Director General on September 30, 2022. In recognition of his performance, the government appointed him on contractual basis as RAB Director General for one year from June 5, 2023 to June 4, 2024 after normal retirement.
