RAB detains three robbers in Sitakunda

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members detained three robbers while preparing for a robbery conducting a raid on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda area of Chattogram on Tuesday night. Three one-shooter guns, seven rounds of ammunition and several local weapons were recovered from them. 

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) Md Mahmudul Hasan Mamun said the detainees were handed over to Sitakunda Police Station on Wednesday. The robbers were identified as Mohammad Imam Hossain, 20, son of Abu Taleb of Barbakund area of Sitakunda upazila, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, 25, son of Nurul Alam and Mostafa Kamal, 22, son of Khorshed Alam of Fakirhat area.

RAB official Md Mahmudul Hasan Mamun said that RAB members detained those three robbers on the basis of secret information while they were preparing for a robbery in Sitakunda’s North Sonapahar area of Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

He said there were two robbery cases filed against accused Iqbal. The accused had been robbing people on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway for a long time.
